SASci Student Paper Prize – Spring 2017

The Society for Anthropological Sciences (SAS/SASci) invites contributions for our SASci Student Paper Prize and one or more Student Travel Awards, for students presenting material at the upcoming spring meetings in conjunction with the Society for Applied Anthropology (Mar. 28 – Apr. 1).  To be eligible, you must be an undergraduate or graduate student at the time your abstract was accepted by SfAA, and you must be presenting your paper/poster at the upcoming Santa Fe meetings.  This is an important professional credential on your CV, as well as providing financial support for your scholarly work. SAS professional members: please encourage your eligible students to submit!
If you are not currently a member of the Society, you should ensure to renew your membership, either through the AAA section renewal at http://www.americananthro.org/ParticipateAndAdvocate/SJDList.aspx (AAA members only), or through our website at http://sas.anthroniche.com/ .  The membership is $10 in either case.
To be eligible for the paper prize, submit a full paper manuscript only (no posters/powerpoints).  Submissions for the paper prize will automatically be considered for the travel awards as well. Students submitting for the travel awards may submit a paper, completed poster, or annotated Powerpoint presentation.   Submissions in Word, PDF, or Powerpoint format only please.
All submissions should be sent by email to chrisomalis@wayne.edu no later than Tuesday, March 28. Awards will be adjudicated by the Spring Meeting prize committee (Eric Jones, Douglas Hume, Stephen Chrisomalis) and awarded at the Business Meeting and Reception on Friday, March 31 in Santa Fe.
